    Steuben Glass

Unlike the cut-glass bowl that my friends loaned to me and its stark abstracts, everything is rounded and undulating in this piece that they provided.

C&C encouraged as always, though I have nothing to ask.

Ooh, I really like that second one. What really interesting repeating patterns you got. You are really getting some neat stuff in these studio shots!

It kinda looks like it has horns.

Mike, I really like the bowl but I am wondering about the reflection of the base. Is it too busy and confusing? For me the reflection of the base is distracting. I REALLY like how you are lighting the subject...that is magnificent.

    Cheers

Glad you like it, Terri! Regarding the horns, I give up; I can't find them.

Jon, that's a really interesting observation you made about the reflection being distracting. Your thinking about that compels me to photograph the bowl on a non-reflective table top. The challenge will be to get the edge to appear as a white line at the bottom of the base without affecting the outline in the other areas, but it's worth a shot. (That pun is regretfully intentional.) Thanks for the idea!

Mike, second image....rounded bottom of bowl goes up to each corner. Think of a steer. Both nice images BTW.

Ahhhhhhhh. Thanks, Paul. I forgot that Terri spends part of her life in "hook 'em horns" country.

Mike, don't get me wrong, the lines in the reflection are interesting but they do not match with the visible portion of the base, I think that is what is distracting for me. I do think a non-reflective platform would best suit this bowl if you can figure out the lighting (and I have no doubt that you can figure it out). Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. (You have plenty of time, sleep is over rated)
