    what a dilemma

Hi guys I am a canon owner and always will be, but something very bad as happened .
some of you will know i have set up a new business this year as an electrical contractor and fancied a new camera ( compact ) just for taking snapshots of really bad wiring work i come across in my job, to share with fellow electricians etc. And also to build a portfolio of my work for potential customers.
my girlfriend said she would get me one for xmas, great idea i thought, that was until i opened it christmas morning, only to find she had bought me a NIKON.
I feel as i have gone over to the dark side
But all joking aside it is the Nikon coolpix S3300 and i have got to say it is a great little camera
6 x optical zoom, 16 mp, hd recording + much more

I have a solution to your dilemma. Take a bit of tape and put it over the NIK and write CAN. That should get your camera to take pictures exactly the same as your other camera (s) do. I doubt you will even be able to tell the difference.

I am a Canon guy but, I have a Nikon Coolpix 5400 that I only use one night a year. I shoot with the Nikon on Halloween when I can use it wearing a goblin mask over my face so no one knows who I am Actually, the Nikon is part of my disguise. As I shoot, I hear people remark, "that can't be Richard with the Nikon!"

Love your solution Trevor - Illustrates the point nicely!

And Glenn, just relax the Dark Side is only appearsdark when you are passing through the veil. Once you get there it's just like Oz, only you won't find yourself clicking your ruby slippers and wishing for home! Sounds like your half way through already, so enjoy the Nikon, and thank your girlfriend for introducing you to a great camera! Good luck with the business!

    Hi Glenn,
I'm a Canon man myself, but would be over the moon if someone had given me a Nikon coolpix S3300 for Christmas. I would guess most of us on this site would have liked to have received anything photographic /camera related; yes Canon products would have been better as they are the best (only joking).

    Enjoy your new kit.
I look forward to seeing some of the pictures you take with it, as long as they are not of 'dodgy wiring'

Think positive - should your new cam actually touch some dodgy 440 wiring, maybe it's plastic will prevent the passage of those nasty electrons into your overly conductive body.

    Re: what a dilemma

Glenn, if you get to post some pics of "dodgy wiring" does that mean I can post some pics from my job? Well, on second thought, since I am a plumber I don't think anybody really wants to see what I deal with!!!!!!!

    Re: what a dilemma

Glenn, no worries.. enjoy your Nikon P&S AND your Canon DSLR. I would be so thrilled with a SO that would buy me camera stuff:> I have a Nikon P90 coolpix and I love it, for those times I don't want to mess with a heavy camera or when DH wants a camera to use. I have a Canon Rebel T1i and a 7D and love them both...
Just enjoy your camera's.. I think they are both good companies and produce very nice camera's.
