    Carrying the Veg

I tried something a little different with my colour processing before converting to B&W - a subtle bit of cross processing in Color Efex so help bring out the colours.

Then it was just the usual conversion I tend to stick to, going into B&W with Silver Efex.

85mm at f1.8 for some separation:

B&W (where you can see a little subtle work on the local contrast can bring out the detail in the man's clothes and give a bit more pop)

Well done as usual, Phil. Some very nice seperation while keeping the whole subject quite sharp. Nice conversion.

The two men in the background looking at you and the subject make a nice touch.

I love the expression on this guy's face! It works well in both color and b&w, I can't decide which I like better.

    Thanks for posting!

Very nice Phil. I really like the facial expression. Also great work in pp. What advantages do the programs you use have? Just curious, I've never used them.

    Thanks guys.

@ Jason - there's nothing you can't do in Photoshop but for me I like the consistency and speed of the results of using these plug ins. I've built up quite a large body of work and it's easy to lose track of how you have processed similar shots in the past. This way I have a few techniques down which create a consistent set.

Plus I'm lazy and prefer to be looking through the viewfinder to looking at the laptop screen!

That's fair enough. I find that your images have a unique style and feel and constiently meet that style.

Anyway. Did you ever finish that d600 700 and 800 review? I was out of the loop for awhile after the hurricane we had.
