    The Local Limestone/Gypsum Plant

I thought that I'd try some industrial photography and came up with these representations from the set. This plant/mine has 70+ years of lime dust accumulated on the surfaces- its like a year-round winter wonderland.

Industrial photograph will never appeal to a mass market.

However, you have captured all the essentials here, crisp and well exposed.

It looks like ice cream to me .

Tyler I think you can enhance the images in PP with contrast and local contrast enhancement, sharpening etc.

The series are a good documentary of the plant. From an artistic basis, I like the bottom image the best. It really does look as if it were frosted with snow.

I like the white and the colors in the top image. I have a thought that you might want to consider. Divide the photo in half and crop off the left half of the image beginning a short way into the left side of the tallest tower/tank. By doing so, there is not as much white to pull the eye away from the wonderful colors, and my personal feeling is it looks great.

By the way, Tyler, if you are willing to say, where exactly did you photograph this? It might be worth a trip down to Maryland for me.

    Thanks guys.

Miltos:I did consider more PP but I am philosophically an in-camera guy. On your advice I will play around with it to see
Ken: I will try your crop suggestion but see comment to Miltos. That plant is in my hometown (not where I live now) of Bellefonte, PA. Search Google maps for "Graymont Bellefonte PA". It is the white splotch just NW of what Google identifies. I'm going to be there this weekend with family and will be visiting again.
