Took these in fading light. C&C welcomed.

With the first one I've tried to soften the outer areas to "bring" the eye away from a busy background and onto the church. Has it worked?
I've tried to age the second image. Still not sure the perspective is right on it though, could it use a slight counter clock turn?

To a degree, yes. I'd suggest that the other thing required to complete the job is a healthy dose of Local Contrast Enhancemen (LCE), just on the church. That would make it 'pop'.

Not sure, Steve, how you rate your post-processing skills (sorry, if I have asked before) and how knowledgeable you feel about the concept of LCE and applying layer masks just to put the effect onto the church and not the rest of the image?

What anyone needs to know about LCE is here.

Thanks for the comments Donald. I would rate my post processing skills as pretty much zip.
I only have a tablet at the moment, so don't have access to the more sophisticated program's right now.

In that case (and I hope it's okay with you), let me show you what I mean, so that once you are able to get get involved in more post-processing work. If you'd rather I didn't post this, let me know and I'll remove it.

If you flick between the two, you can maybe see the difference.

    Hi Steve,
The colour to me is picture perfect. Think the B&W has to little contrast.
