    Hurricane Sandy's Wrath

All of these pics were taken within walking distance or a short drive from my house. Luckily my house did not suffer any damage or flooding.

Quite the storm. Tragic how much damage was done. An interesting documentary series.

I assume it is not usual practice to park your boat in the middle of the street, was the storm surge sufficient to carry the boat here or was it the wind?

The storm surge was between 4-8 feet for my area and boats are tied down on bulkheads in the inlets. With the combination of the wind and the surge, it carried boats up blocks and over blocks and up to peoples houses. Even cars managed to get washed way with the storm.

Once the gas crunch passes, I'll roam around and take more pictures. We're still without power and traffic lights.

Can I ask what town you are in? I have a lot of cousins on L.I. .
Glad you did not suffer the wrath personally.

Between Bellmore and Amityville. The coastal areas of LI took the brunt of the storm but any areas away from the water pretty much made it out OK unless a tree fell on a house or car.
