Infestation

Was looking for a phone app to help id butterflies and came across it on the website of a local conservation organisation. Unfortunately the app was for the fruit phone. Wrote them an email reminding them that there are other phones as well and to get one out for the other system.

Anyway browsed around their site and came across a place of conservation interest that could be reached by bus.

So off I went hoping to get some butterfly shots. What I found was nothing like what that conservation group's description. They should go more often.

Looks like a fun place to visit Bobo, #2 and #5 stand at the top for me. Very sharp and great clearity. Did you get any close ups?

These shots do not do the scene justice - take #2 and multiply that by 10 or 50. There were literally hundreds swarming that plant. You could even touch their wings and they did not even budge.

Really nice. I wouldn't mind that kind of infestation. As usual, I'd love to see a close-crop of one of the butterflies.

I liked them all. Please inform the EXIF ​​data from all photos.
Who is the person shown in photo 3 and who took the photo?
I like it when a photographer is photographed in action. This reminds me of some paintings in which the artist appears painting a picture.

Thanks Anotonio. No idea who the photographer is, I was just panning around with the viewfinder and took a shot.

EXIF - #1-#4 taken with the 70-300L, #5 with the 150mm macro. All manual exposure, ISO 800, f5-f8, 1/200-1/500. Probably should have gone faster on the shutter with #5 so that there was less blur but sometimes we just forget.

I like the last one the best. It's an unfortunate fact that sometimes the most interesting pictures can come from unfortunate events like a butterfly infestation.
