    Hi Randy,

I think the long and seemingly unconnected title, plus the lack of guidance, has put people off replying, you may find the following helpful.

How to Get Effective Feedback for your Posted Images

Assuming you'd like some C&C on the picture ...
    EXIF Data; Nikon D90 at 400mm, 1/125s f/6.3 800iso.

Even if the lens has VR, that's a 'big ask' for avoiding subject movement (and camera shake) at 1/125s - and it shows

I appreciate from the iso you were probably struggling for light in the forest, but at least it is well exposed.

A shutter speed at least 1/500s would be preferrable for this, but if you have also had to crop this, going to 3200iso probably wasn't on either. Perhaps you could have scraped by 2000 iso and f/5.6? We share the same sensor, and that's what I'd have used, given time to set it up of course

    Hope that helps,

Thanks for the advice, Dave; This was really just a snapshot so to speak. In this instance, this just an introduction to one of my two dogs and a test of how far I could push an old 400mm lens, handheld, in crappy light. I probably should have known better.
