We have been discussing this sort of shot in my recent Project 52 thread. The consensus is that the black area should be quite small to work well. So I would crop differently to reduce your black areas by at least half.

Hi Andy,
I prefer the 75mm shots for the more recognisable shapes (e.g. church).
I think I prefer the brighter one, but that might change if less black in shot, and/or if presented much bigger.

Hi Geoff,
I have had a look at your Project 52 and where the black area should be reduced, once again thanks for the feedback, it is a steep learning curve.
I was surprised I managed to get decent shutter speeds with such low ISO, and little, or no exposure compensation needed

Once again thanks for you feedback, with yourself and Geoff being honest with me it is helping, I think it is time to learn PP more in depth.
