Given that this is a little late for you Jim... I'm also a poor college student but I just got the Canon EF-S 18-200 and love the range of it. Unless you're hurting for high quality, use it as a throwaround lens when you want one lens. GOing to share any of the photos when you get back? |

The 18-200 would probably work well with my 50D.I might look into it.I've decided on taking 5DII,24-70,70-200f/4 IS and my 50 1.4.I've been shooting with the (new to me)24-70 and really like the range and IQ on FF. I'll definitely post some photos from my trip. |
