    Everything about this is right. DoF, lighting and pose (how did you get her to do that?)

    It's great to be able to get that close (even with a 400mm+). There are two things that I think are a slight problem. The nose seems to have caught the focus point and made the eyes a bit soft. The light on the left ear is a tad bright compared to the rest of the shot. But it's still very good and a lot closer than I could ever get.

    Got a mate with two daughters into horses. For the dressage events the horses have makeup applied, no joke. Eye shadow, nose blackening etc etc.

    Thats intresting about makeup being applied to horses...no idea they did such a thing....

    Thanks carregwen, I dodged the ear, but was afraid to go too far with it, and the focus WAS a little forward of the eyes. It's not a #1 shot, but not bad either. Thanks for the honest critique, sometimes when editing i concentrate on one thing and miss others. I think i may have raised the levels of the shadow side a little too much as well. I 'll have to redo it and see what i can come up with.
