I like these, I know Wells next the sea - used to live in Cambridge a long time ago. My favourite place was Holkam bay just down the road from there.

Having just spent a week in Britanny trying to make something interesting from a flat landscape I appreciate these images even more !

Am I alone on CiC in finding it difficult to appreciate many B&W conversions? Some are so easy to understand, e.g. the atmospheric beauty of many of Donald's images, whereas some just leave me perplexed and wondering "Why?". The second shot here is just screaming "Colours???" at me.

    Two very attractive images!

I make lots of B&W images but the first thing that I thought when I saw the second image is that it might be even better in color.

i like both of these, nice images, i agree to some point if the beach huts are brightly coloured, but i prefer b+w anyway, i think they have good contrast in the shades, and it always makes you imagine the scene more rather than just "here it is.

I see what you mean. I was expecting, at the very least, red, white and blue!

Sorry, the second one just doesn't work for me at all, but I'll go with your first image, Paul - I like the subject and it is a pleasing composition.

    Cheers.
