Canal boats some C & C please.
I was never sure about this shot. Is it too dark or just right ?
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320)
Aperture: f/18
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 400

Warrick, My initial opinion was that there are perhaps too many dark areas where all detail is lost. I lightened the shadow areas very slightly which bought out some more detail but would certainly not say that it improved it.
Difficult one........ I think I prefer as is.

Warrick, it does seem dark to me. I'm no expert, but it was probably a difficult shot trying to maintain detail in the sky and capture the boats at the same time. It may have worked with the light at your back, if you could even take it from that angle, but then you would have had a totally different perspective.

Does seem dark in places, maybe a good candidate for an hdr image if you have some others?

It has a nice mood for me, sometime a little under exposure creates a better picture where the detail only takes away from the picture. I have ruined plenty of shots trying to improve them just for the sake of it. This would look good hanging on a wall nice and large, but it would have to suite the room and its decor.
