Seaflows

Water flow captured by a long exposure is a recurring theme in photography. Here is one such image taken in tidal waters on the Solway Firth. This post is also a test of my recent migration to PBase. Galleries to be seen at Pbase.com/David_Ws. Comments and crits are welcome as usual.

Edit: Looks as if my direct posting from PBase needs further investigation. The original on PBase is 1000by667 pixels but this is only 400by 260 pixels.

Easy when you know how. :) :D

When you copy the direct link url from PBase and paste into an image link dialog here, you need to change "medium.jpg" (at the end) to be "original.jpg", thats all.

If you forget, just Edit the post and change it (between the IMG tags) like I did.

Thanks Dave. The instructions in PBase were initially a bit confusing. I also managed to do it by clicking on "original" in the image window and then right clicking to "copy url".

PBase certainly seems to offer a bit more regarding display and storage of images than Flickr, and it allows this direct linking without any hassle.

Susan - Thanks for your comment. One of the things I like about taking these shots is that you cannot know in advance what the image will look like. In this instance the water flows diagonally, but a subsequent shot could have the water swirling around. This unpredictability has its own sort of beauty to it.
