    Commercial.Bldg.BW

I developed this photograph in the style of a black and white woodblock print. All comments welcomed.

Karm - That is a very powerful image. Innovative and creative and wonderfully executed. I particularly like that you have not placed the edge of the building on the half-way line. That would have obviously made the thing fully symmetrical and, I think, made it a very boring image. As it is we have this 'off-centre' line that attracts attention, holds it and makes you (me) study the work more closely.

    I like it very much.

Thanks. You are so right about the placement of the building. I tried a perfectly symmetrical placement of the photograph's objects and it destroyed the image.

Brilliant, Karm! Would look great with a huge enlargement in a studio apartment. Well done

Thanks Kevin. You're right about where this photo might find a home.

Hi Karm, I think I would try aligning the right side of the building with the right edge of the frame and potentially eliminating the sense that the building is tilting left. On the other hand, perhaps you wanted this way as an interesting eye catcher?

I notice that too, Frank, but the more I looked the more I decided I preferred it that way- one more contribution to it not being predictable. Probably a subject of split preferences.

I also noticed the tilt in the building and I also couldn't decide whether to fix it or not. In fact, I played with adding even more distortion to the building. I decided against it because it started to look a bit too contrived. In a week or so I'll revisit the photo and see if I still like it the way it now looks.

    Thanks for your comments.
