    Iles Aux Cerfs

While on holiday in Mauritius we took a trip to Iles Aux Cerfs beach. It's beautiful, picturesque and tranquil.

Unless there's a public holiday, in which case half the island arrives to relax, BBQ and enjoy the location!

One of my first attempts at processing using Silver Efex, where I used the High Structure preset to bring some pop into the image and a little separation between subject and background (70mm at f2.8 on a crop sensor D90)

Now Andrew76 will recognise exactly how he processed one of his shots in black and white recently!

    Hi phil,
Im a fan of this style of high structure, high contrast image. I think it works particularly well in B&W. It gives it a very HDR, almost 3D feel.
I appreciate its not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it!
    Cheers

    Hi Phil

    Thanks for the feedback

I've grown accustomed to using different layers nowadays, which doesn't give quite so much of an HDR look and a more subtle effect.

Got it - thanks Phil, and I see EXACTLY what you mean about the clouds.
