    I assume you were shooting with your lens close to the glass, Bobo. Did you use any extra lighting?

    Yes close to the glass but not macro close.

    For #1 had an off camera flash on a stand about 3 feet on my left pointing to ceiling/wall corner about 2 feet on my right.

    For the others, flash about 2 feet on my right and pointed away to the ceiling/wall corner.

    Beautiful! I am always drawn to black backgrounds. The colours of the fish are just lovely. I've tried the same thing (with a little fish bowl!) but didn't achieve anything close to this.

    Thanks Myra.

    Fish bowls will be more problematic then fish tanks due to the curvature which will distort images. You can however get pretty good magnifying effects.
