    Canon 1D Mark IIn, Canon 600mm + 1.4x, 1/1000 @ f10 Scissor-tailed Flycatcher

    The official Oklahoma State Bird, his extremely long tail does not enhance his flying ability but apparently appeals to the females. This is the male in breeding colors.

    Beautiful image, beautiful bird. It is too bad it was on the wire rather than a natural perch, but as we both know that is not under our control. We have to shoot them where we find them. Keep shooting my friend.
