    Canon 50D memory card type

I met a girl at the beach today and she had a canon 50d. she was from Rome , Italy so I assume she bought the camera overseas...what I did notice is that it used SD memory and not CF...Does or did make differnt memory card models for differnt markets or is SD the newer model of the 50 d?

The 50D is only available with a CF card interface as far as I know ... My guess is that it was probably a 500D.

I did mine last week. This is what you want. 1.0.7 is the latest. Canon firmware 1.0.7

The easiest way that I know is to ...

1 Download the firmware from Canon's website

    2 Unzip it

3 Transfer the file to your formatted CF card using a card reader

4 Insert card in camera and update from there

I've done 2 updates for my 50D.I did it straight to the camera instead of the memory card.Either way is pretty simple.Canon has instructions for both.

OK Now I have a stupid question adn I think I already know the answer...

Will the 100 percent image from the 15. MP 50 D be larger in screen size than my 10 MP XTi shots or did they just squeeze more MP into the same size image?

    Hi Kevin,

50D max image size 4752X3163.I couldn't find good specs for the XTi but the 40D(10MP)max image size is 3888X2592.

And as a result, I believe file sizes will be consistently bigger.

    But if by
or did they just squeeze more MP into the same size image?
you mean; is the sensor bigger (which I doubt you do), then no, it isn't.
