    Red-bellied Woodpecker

There is a dead tree where I take nature photographs that the woodpeckers love. This Red-bellied Woodpecker was taken a couple of days ago. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Joe, in another thread you had mentioned this type of Woodpecker. I mention we had Red-breasted Sapsuckers....I for what ever reason used to mistakenly call them red bellied. Some part of me thought you might have been doing the same....nope a totally different bird. My mistake.

As for these images, nice detail, compostion and looks like a good job handling some harsh lighting. Well done.

Thanks Paul, much appreciated. I would post photos of the Pileated but the lighting was so difficult. A very bright sky behing the tree and the bird in shadows. Maybe I will get another chance soon with better light.

Joe, nice photo. I'll look forward to seeing the pileated when it co-operates with the lighting!
