    Sharon,

I like this very much. The diagonal boarding with the parallel and lightly exposed railing create a powerful line of sight, with our attention further focused by the selective but subtle coloring; surrealness is achieved by the unsaturated background and the use of blur precisely renders the suggestion of running. The only area I wonder about is the diagonal line leading down from the right side of the pier end, whether the image would be better with or without it- certainly an easy clone if you wanted to try it. Well done

This may be a very stupid question (many of mine are!), but did you pull the zoom in or push it out during the exposure?

The reason I ask is that the sense conveyed to me is of running backwards away from the end of the pier, rather than running forwards.

Whichever, it doesn't detract from what is a highly creative, imaginative and very well crafted piece of work.

Very creative and interesting! Love the light and toning! Agree with Kevin about the diagonal line on the right.

I don't get the sense of running backward or forward from the blur. It's the focal point at the end of the pier that I think has the psychological power to indicate to me that I'm running forward.

    Thank you everyone.

We were diving out of the rain along the jetty, running and singing.

I couldn't shoot, was too part of the moment.

Back on the bridgeI tried to recapture it as we had seen it.
