In homage of today's volcano eruption

Mount Tongariro, which is a live volcano in New Zealand's North Island, erupted for the first time today in nearly a century. My wife and I visited Tongariro National Park in 2000, which is the home of no fewer than three active volcanoes including Tongariro. I captured this image on slide film of Mount Ruapehu, one of the three volcanoes, thinking that perhaps the hazard at hole #3 is just a wee bit over the top.

    C&C encouraged, as always.

So does the par change during eruption?

That depends on whether the hole fills up with lava.

Welcome to CiC, Picdude! You might want to consider adding at least your first name to the information displayed on the left, as that's a tradition here. Notice CNelson's information in the previous post as an example.

Mike, it is an interesting scene. You might want to try cropping off most all of the green at the bottom of the image, leaving just a thin sliver. The green does not significantly contribute to the majestic volcano behind. I would clone out the flag pole too as it is a distraction that pulls the eye toward it. My two cents worth ...

Ken, your comments make me think that perhaps my image doesn't tell the humorous story effectively on its own that I had intended to convey. You're suggesting that I eliminate everything about the golf course while I was hoping to portray the comedy of having a golf course almost at the base of a live volcano. In that regard, I'm glad to see your comment that the flag pole pulls the eye toward it, as that is my intention.

Sounds OK to me, Mike. Yes, I missed the humor. Sorry.
