    The Butchart Gardens

Visited the Buchart Gardens on Vancouver Is BC on our recent trip to Canada. These are amazing gardens and here are a few of my attempts to capture their beauty.

    Comments welcome.

I and my wife really liked the first three. Good exposures and compositions. I especially like that some of them include people, as those images tell the story not just of a beautiful place but also of people enjoying the beauty.

Agreed (with Mike and John) -- these are beautiful photos; the third one is probably my favourite. They almost look like paintings, but not so much so that they feel fake.

You have achieved your aim Dave, I want to go

I personally find it difficult to get a composition that works of subjects like these - you just did it four times, to make it look easy!

Just the right size for my screen too, worth viewing in Lytebox and F11 to fully appreciate them.

    Well done,

Nice shots Dave. It looks like you were here on a day that wasn't so packed with people. You got really good light as well, not too harsh to hide everything in the shadows. Great DOF. I like the third one as it's an unusual example of the place. Thanks for sharing.

As I was looking at these, before reading the comments of other above, my thoughts were exactly as Dave has stated

Which, is why I, too, think this is a very good set of images.

Thanks everybody for your comments. Much appreciated. Andrew it was a nice day and the light was quite good. It was around 5PM in the afternoon and the light was not too harsh. The people numbers had probably thinned out by then.
