    Wedding print prices in England

A friend found herself as "second shooter" at a wedding recently, but unfortunately didn't discuss money at the time

She's asked me for pricing advice, but since I stopped doing weddings sometime back in the last millennium, I can't help.

Any suggestions for a ball park figure?

I am confused - a ball park figure for what?
(labour) 'Second Shooting' or (product) 'Print Prices'?

In either case though, 'ballpark' will vary - dependent on many factors: so as well as clarifying to what the ballpark figure is pertaining: a bit more information which generally outlines the background and the friend’s experience and duties and etc, would be helpful.

If she did not arrange a price at the outset, I would suggest the married couple are now in the driving seat and your friend had better have some premium shots to sell that are better than those of the main photographer. Otherwise she has just incurred a self expensed day of wedding photography experience.

Her best bet is to process and show a small selection of excellent shots and hope that the couple are taken with them.

Thanks for that, Bill - just the sort of thing I was after.

When she asked me this, I said "That's easy - we'll look at a couple of websites(since I don't do weddings any more, I do like to be able to suggest 'togs for enquiries) and was surprised; a couple of years ago, I could find the print price lists, but no longer; it seems people have become coy about their prices.

Well, the trend is not to be selling Prints any more.
The last Wedding I did was end of F/Y 2010-2011.
I have those Retail Prices because I still cover Social Events.
I have no problems with posting my Price List.

What I was also confused about was "second shooter" - that is usually a term for a second photographer EMPLOYED by the first photographer . . . hence the 'second' would never be selling prints.
