first post so hope i got it right, need help with post processing
I shoot this image in yellowstone, and i am relatively new to both my camera and photoshop. For some reason the sky comes out really dark in some of my photos, unnaturally so. So i am wondering how to change they sky, and post process this image. Here is the image, i hope that i can get advice on how to edit it.

ddmac: to start off welcome to CIC, I would suggest that you read the tutorials on how to post said through tinypic's it is quite easy as some member and I am one want to see the image with the post not have to start going all over the place searching to see the image. It would get more attention and provide more feedback on your images.
Cheers:

ddmac,
yes it can be seen at your flickr page, but it is best to present it on this page. It is very easy and quick to do this then everybody will be able to view it and make comments. Any problems give us a shout.
And by the way welcome to CiC it's nice to have you with us.:)

Flickr provides the BB code in the share options of the photoviewer which lets the photo appear on this page. I prefer using this method as flickr allows you to choose your own licensing for the pictures to some extent.

That said, the sky is one of the best parts of the image, not unnatural based on the lighting angles. The first thing I would try is cropping out most of the grass directly in front of the camera.

P.S. If you don't mind I would like to try a quick PP job on this pic.
Re: first post so hope i got it right, need help with post processing
thanks everyone for the comments and i am happy for all the help, you can most certainly work on the photo. and in the future i will post it the way this forum wants, but for those who prefer flicker i will also do a link to my flicker. I do believe that the sky is a bit too dark it was around 3pm so the sky must have been lighter than that at the top it is pitch black, but maybe if the geyser had more contrast it would seem lighter.

yes, anyone who wants to try is welcome to. You did a much better job tha i have managed so far, going to give it a shot with viveza 2 today see what i get. How did you get the sky that nice? i mean i would crop it a bit to get the last dark part out, but it is so much better than what i have been getting so far.

those are both awesome, i will post mine soon, by the way is the speck on the right side of the mist in the geyser dust or something in the mist? i haven't figured it out.
Re: first post so hope i got it right, need help with post processing
I think it is dust, but I can't tell if it was on the lens or sensor.
