    Menacing skies

Weeks of 100 degree heat (average temps for this area is 87 degrees) mixed with some violent storms have made for some interesting skies the last several days. C&C welcome.

I suspect these could come in handy as replacement skies for moody dark images. Great moon and cloud image.

I am quite amazed by the degree of turbulence needed to produce such convoluted cloud layers. Did these manifest into violent wind and rain storms? Where any photographers harmed in the production of these images?

Trevor, we did have violent winds, 91mph gusts, but not a lot of rain. 125,000 without power for several days but we were lucky, nobody harmed.

I really like the texture and balance in the second one, Jon. Consider increasing the dynamic range, especially to include more highlights.

I don't know what method you're using to upload the images, but placing space between them would make a far better presentation that would probably result in more responses. Imagine hanging pictures on a wall with no space between them. In effect, that's what you did and I believe it lessens the impact of your nice images.

Thanks Mike, I will remember the spacing in future posts.
