    Self Portrait

    Hi People,

After introducing myself to you members I knew it would only be a matter of time before I would show my face to you. This is the only side of me that I want people to see. Definately a much more handsome side of the one behind the camera

This is a shot I took of myself fooling around with my newly obtained used baby. I am learning how to use it and getting acquainted with it. So I decided to do a self portrait. (Just for you folks)
I shot this one in my dining room in a mirror at night. Not the best of light to shoot in, especially if it is a handheld shot. Please forgive if it is a little blurry.
    Nikon D200
35 mm Nikkor lense at F1.8
1/6s at ISO100 (should have turned it up)
The white balance was ajusted manually to 2700k. I really battled to get it right. The light was these power saving tipe that I do not now if it is fluorecent or not.
Auto WB had an even worse yellow tint. Any advice.

Hope you members of CiC will see a lot more of this self portrait.

Thanks for the time to have a look.

    Regards,
    Andre

Andre, welcome to CiC... We hope to see a lot of your images.

Regarding coor balance, I suggest shooting in Raw and including a white target. Adjusting the color balance is easy using this method.

    Hi Richard,

Thanks, how stupid of me I should have used preset white balance. See that is why I am still an amature and not a pro.
Will try it again tonight under the same light.
