Re: Wild at Heart
Hi Sharon,
most of your flower shots are great pictures for me. But this one does'nt really speak to me. I am not shure why. The composition looks alright and the jar is well out of focus. Maybe the shadow areas of the flowers look to dark for me and there is too much black space in the lower right corner.
bye

Re: Wild at Heart
I like the lighting, with the jar backlit and the flower lit from above, but I think what gathers my eye and unsettles it is the insect-antennae-like stem, which with its two joints calls for attention better left to the flower. Perhaps a weak light source from the right onto the flower would render it a little less dark, unless you wish the starkness to be retained.

Re: Wild at Heart
Good points from both of you and I thank you for them.
I picked this bedraggled specimen out of my 30 day flood garden ..shook 2 determined slugs off the petals and took it indoors.
I popped it in a jar on my window ledge and when I looked at it later thought..what a beautiful twist there is on that stem, it was a bit like a sexy angle poise lamp. i was aiming for sultry and am not unhappy with it...especially the stem.
Sorry it doesn't work for you
