    Freedom Tower Illuminated

Took this shot last night walking around Hoboken. I thought that little ramp in front provided a cool foreground for the Freedom tower.

I did some cropping and adjustments in RAW and then reduced the noise with Topaz.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Excellent shot and the walkway does add interest to an otherwise "just another nightscape".

Personally I would have preferred the tower to be less "glowy" but it does look much better at the bigger size in lightbox.

I agree that the walkway really makes this image. Nice work with your color balance.

    Hi Aaron,

I know what Bobo means about the walkway making this not "just another nightscape", but I find the foreground too bright and I'd suggest losing a stop or two exposure on it - if it still looks OK significantly dimmer than the more distant tower.

    Cheers,

    Bobo, Dave and Mike,

    Thank you for your feedback!

Dave, good advice. I used a little graduated filter on the bottom and I think it does a nice job of bringing out the tower more. I didn't want to go overboard but I think even the slight gradient makes a nice difference.

    Let me know your thoughts.

Sometimes less is more and in this instance the second 'toned down' image works better.

I like the mood of both images though the last one looks better scene-wise. I would rather prefer that the structure holding the bridge be a bit lesser though so you can hardly see the water down below the photo.

Gorgeous image. I like both versions but prefer the 1st because I love the highlights/colours on the bridge and reflected in the water.

Something about the second version makes it a little less striking, but I think It's a very nice city scape.
