    I found the start of this article, as intended, quite amusing... and the rest looked useful
    Although I haven't read it all, I'll probably refer back to it at some point.

    Useful article. Can't say I'd really given maintenance of my tripod much thought before this. I may not now, but at least I'm aware of some issues. Thanks for the link.
