    Ghost Gums

    Hello,

I have a new 35mm AF-S 1.8 and have been getting familiarised with it. This is a photo from a nature reserve that is not far from my house. I am tossing up whether to go for a B&W conversion. So far I am liking the lens, it is very quiet on the focus front and pretty quick.

    Cheers

Nice shot Jason. I think it's one of those images that would look good in colour or B&W.

I think the sunlight would give a conversion the feeling of moonlight to create a lovely, surreal feeling to the photo. Beautiful as is, though, too!

    Thanks Myra,
I got around to converting to b&w, I don't think I quite managed a surreal feel but I don't mind it.

    Hi Jason,

I like the BW version much more. Personally I would raise the blackpoint a little bit. The shadow areas in the first one look blueish to me but maybe that's my uncalibrated monitor.

    bye

    Hi Jason,
    B&W works for me.
    Well done.
