    Nikon D7000 Focus issue glitch

    Hello,

    I will keep my story short. Promise

    I have noticed lately that my focus has been soft. Could figure out why. The focus was soft with only one lens. When flipping through the manual I came across the AF Fine tuning. I check the menu and this feature was on? No offset was made but it seemed to be enough to screw around with the AF of the lens.

    I turned it off and everything is fine :-)

    I'm sure this got turned on due to some computer glitch. At least I was saved from having the lens evaluated.

    Hi, I'm not sure...are you are asking a question or just sharing the issue?

    I have heard about some focus issues with some of the earlier D7000's;
    have you done any research on that particular feature?

    Hi Mike,

    Heh, I guess I wasn't all that clear now was I.

    It was a comment. Both the Manual and CiC advise caution when using the AF Fine tuning feature.
    Though, I was surprise to see that even just having it "On" without any offset made, changed the performance of the lens.

    All this is for CiC-members information.

    It is strange Erik that it should interfere when it is turned on, but without any adjustments made for lenses. Having said that, if it helps you to solve your focus issues, it is great.
    I can't imagine any sort of glitch being responsible for turning it on, so I'll check later Today to see what my setting is.
