I love England. These shots are from my earlier attempts at photography.

You'll want to point out that this series contains shots taken in Scotland and Wales and that these are not parts of England, but along with England and Northern Ireland, make up the United Kingdom.

I stand corrected Sir. No offence intended here.

and my apologies for that highly distracting watermark as well.

We just have to make sure everyone else understands it, Satyendra!

And they are excellent images at the top of Salisbury Crags looking out over Edinburgh. I do particularly like your B & W looking away over the River Forth to the hills of Fife in the distance. The way in which you have used the light on the grass in the foreground is wonderful.

The one thing I'd question about all of them however, is your use of the watermark. It does dominate and draws attention away from what are very good images. I think if we want to have any text at all, then we need to make a border and pout it on that. I do not think it should be on the image.

We have had many discussions on here about the fact that it offers no protection whatsoever if someone does want to use your image. These watermarks/signatures are very easily removed. And you do not need to state that you own copyright. You do that anyway by virtue of the fact that you made the image

The diversity of subject matter is really interesting and I really like the image taken at Ripley's!

When you have so much diversity, it might be helpful to present dissimilar images in different threads. As they are presented here, especially considering the number of images, I wonder if others feel as I do that I'm less inclined to take the time to comment about the various images.

If you were hanging these images on walls, would you present all of them on the same wall or would you place them on different walls for maximum effect? In essence, you have placed them on the same "wall" here, and I think doing so lessens the imact of some of the images.

That reminds me of my first trip to Scotland. That was back in 1996 during summer. One evening I was in a pub in Edinburgh. The semi-finals of the European Football Championship were running. England vs. Germany. Do I need to mention that the whole pub favoured the German team, especially because the Scottish team was kicked out of the tournament by the English one that year.

    BTW nice pictures.

I had a similar experience with a football match - we were travelling through Scotland with our English son-in-law and we called in to a pub in a small town just north of the Firth of Forth to watch England play in the 2006 World Cup - and the whole pub was cheering for the other team !

That's a nice collection of images. You've got a good shot of Westminster and I like the Hollyrood ones too.
