    Orchid by candle light

Evening all, (well it is here)
Have been looking at Sharon's wonderful B&W images and thought I would like to have a try at something similar.

These are only a couple of shots I took tonight to get some feedback and consider it a works in progress sort of thing.

I have used a black felt backdrop so there is nothing to distract from the image and for lighting I used candles to see how they worked.
Exif data should tell you about my settings and my camera was on a tripod of course.

The first image was overexposed but I pulled it back with pp to something presentable as I wanted to know what you think of the composition.
To me there is something of an angelic or perhaps butterfly feel to it, not sure?

The second I think is the better of the images I took tonight and for the life of me the stamen looks like a preacher in a pulpit, (could be the wines I had with dinner though)
Would appreciate any feedback. This is something I would like to get right.
    Cheers Greg.

Yes he does look like a preacher...indeed a quite sinister minister in shot #2!

    Really lovely work Greg.
