    New York, New York

I have only recently begun converting years of color images into monochrome. Though I tend to think of Las Vegas images as color images, this one works well for me in black-and-white. C&C is always encouraged.

To eliminate the moire pattern in the building on the far right, click the image to view it in a larger size.

Oh yes. That is a beauty.

Magnificent tonal range. What works so well is the composition. What we have are simple lines and blocks of shape and wonderful patters - look at each individual window, then group them into sections and then look at them in the context of the whole building, and then look at the buildings together. The whole edifice just builds up into a wonderful geometric scene.

    And ...............

we have that (what do you call it?) rollercoaster providing a stark alternative in terms of line and shape. And the positioning of the cars at the top of that drop - that is just superb.

And the processing is is spot-on. That sky behind those buildings - just works.

    I do like it ... a lot.

Glad you like it, Donald! Yes, that thing is called a roller coaster, though I would only know about that from viewing at a distance. You'd never get me to go on one if my life depended on it.

It's not that Donald and I like to see our posts twice. There's something wacko going on with the technology.

EDIT: Now that Donald has kindly deleted the repetitive posts, this post perhaps makes no sense.

Yep. Not sure what's going on here. I'll delete one of each.

Maybe the double posts had something to do with the title.

Wow I like this the tones, the buildings and what really makes it for me is the clouds they make the buildings stand out. I road a roller coaster ONCE and that was enough. Fantastic image.

Very strong image indeed, Mike. I like it a lot, especially the more that I look at it. Whatever approach you used to make the conversion, it worked.
