Re: yellow headed
I think that bird is a Common Yellowthroat .They may be common across the US. but around here They are kinda hard to find, usually around slow water and marshes. very timid I have been unsuccessful in capturing one in image. I love the colors and the different directions the dry stalks and fresh grass have. Good one!

Re: yellow headed
James got it, it is a Young male Yellow headed Blackbird. I caught one a couple weeks ago, quite rare here along the coast. Normally they are found from California over to Texas and north to the Great lakes and even canada. They are not usually in the west side of Oregon or Washington but more so the further east of the State.
Here is the one I caught, about two weeks ago, for I.D. comparison. Mine is a full adult...hence the full yellow head and the white on the wings. Your bird looks young.

Re: yellow headed
Cool birds wish we had them out here! The common yellow throat that I thought it was looks more like a warbler type of bird. They are probably half the size of that too

Re: yellow headed
Great catch Jack and Paul.
Slow water, marshes eh? Know of a few places back home that are like that - will keep an eye out when I get back home and go birding.
