Hi Pat,
The first one looks great as I can still see the rust of the shoes. The blue ads to the vintage feel and the directional light creates more of an impact by highlighting the mid-section of your photo. The second one, to me, is just too red. It reminds me of the light in a film dark room. Were you thinking of the red-hot farrier's forge?
