    Florida Pier

I have been playing a little bit with some shots from vacation a month ago. This pier was a favorite spot for the week, for pics, fishing and just hanging out. I like the color shot more than the B&W. Thoughts??

I love the colors and angles Jon. Hmmm... does it look level to you? Not the piles but the deck?

Frank, I noticed that as soon as I posted it! Gotta fix that. I figured somebody else would notice also. Thanks

I think this is better...unless my head is screwed on crooked again, which is a strong possibility.

I think there is a good image in there, but the fact that the sky is blown and is so bright kills, for me, the opportunity to appreciate the structure that is meant to be the main subject. My eyes just get dragged to that bright area.

You wrote that you preferred the colour version to the B & W. Why was that? Is aboiut colour v B & W, or about the composition? The reason I ask is that I was wondering what it would look like if you cropped that existing B & W version just at the bottom of the timber nearest us and then, if you wished, made a colour version of that. In other words, getting in close to exclude that blown sky.

    Just a thought.

Donald, it is the color that grabs me in this one. I normally will be drawn to a B&W image over its color counterpart, but something about the color in this one just sucks me in more so than the B&W. I do have to agree with you on the blown sky, it did bother me. Here is my go at your suggestions...

I think that makes for a much stronger image. I'd like to hear what others think.
