    Blossom Abstract

    Blossom Abstract

This certainly won't be everyone's cuppa ( by any stretch of the imagination).. but I was having a bit of a play with a photo of blossom I took last week and some texture to create a painterly version I quite liked the result so thought I would share it here.

I hope it is okay to post in Nature & Architecture but if another section seems more appropriate just shift it. That's the problem with abstracts, you never know where to post them.

It reminds me of those Japanese style paintings on a silk background.

Sharon- I do enjoy your perspective on photography (not to mention your humor), this may be my favorite thus far. This SHOULD go in your portfolio!

I'm just insanely jealous of the mind that develops the ideas for images such as this. It makes me feel dull and boring.

On the subject of which, how many of you saw the story in the press this week that the small village of Dull, here in Scotland, is looking to enter a fraternal relationship with the town of Boring in the US. No kidding. It's true.

I heard about that, the newsman who was reporting it (and talking with people from both towns) suggested adding Bland, VA to make a threesome. They seemed to like it.

This is beautiful Sharon. I'd love to be able to do this. Could you post a small version of each of the original shots so I could see what you started with. I have a vauge idea how to do this but like some of the others have mentioned I don't have the imagination to know where to start.

They should make the arrangements in Hell, MI; only a short distance from Climax, MI

Well Sharon dared and made such a good artistic image out of her flower so now I dare to send one of my own for your critical eyes.
I photographed an almond blossom in the garden, used textures and different blend modes in photoshop, added some text for my friends in Japan.

I believe I saw it on the Drudge Report. I think it's hilarious - and VERY appropriate

Yeaaah, it may not be photography only, I have also tried to add paint brush strokes on some pics. You feel like playing the creator

Let me add my expression of admiration to the collection, Sharon. A beautiful image. I would love to see it printed on matte paper.
