    Alex shot with natural light.
I was trying to get his hair which extends to the top of the frame, it ended up too dark

    Hi Steven,

    Did you shoot it RAW?

It's about 2 stops under-exposed - but the hair detail should have been able to be recovered in a RAW shot. Unfortunately, a JPEG conversion throws away much of the RAW safety margin, and there's no hair detail left here that can be recovered.

If one is going to run without the hair showing then you may as well crop off the top portion of the image, as it's not contributing anything. Other than that, it looks fine to me, although I'd probably lift the skin tones a little.

    Thanks for the feedback Colin
I did shoot it in RAW and the image was underexposed. I normally check the historgram but at the time I was growling at my not so co-operative daughter.
I like your website you have some fine images.

    Thanks Stephen.

Have you tried a healthy dose of fill light in the RAW converter of your choice?
