Don't worry - it has happened to many of us. And still does on occasions.

Vikas, I also struggled the first few times. I find it easier to link directly from my ImageShack account, a link to a picture already uploaded to any other site should work the same as far as I know. Open the picture, copy the link and paste it where you want it in your post, and add at the end.

    Re: beatiful evening !

Vikas I am very glad that you have managed to get the picture loaded up on to the forum. Well done. You have asked for comment, so I hope this is helpful.

    • What are, effectively, the two main subjects are at each side of the frame. So, our eyes are having to jump from one side of the image to the other

    • They are made to be the main subject of the image because the landscape behind is out of focus. But are they meant to be the main subjects or not? If they are, they make up only a very small percentage of the image and would, I think need to have been a much bigger part of the picture.

    • But I think your intention, based on the title of the image, was that the overall landscape should be the main subject. The problem with that, as I wrote above, is that it is out of focus. To show of a landscape when it is the main subject you need to have a deep depth of field. The picture needs to be in focus from front to back. I note that you shot this at f9 at a focal length of 135mm on a Nikon D80. That should have provided a reasonable depth-of-field, although shooting at f16 would have ensured more depth. To my eye, there is no part of the image that is sharply in focus. I feel something happened in the process of capturing the photograph that threw your focus out.

    • When you are composing a landscape or seascape, one of the most important things, I think, is to make sure your horizon is straight, unless you are deliberately seeking to have running at an angle for artistic purposes. The main horizontal line that runs across at the end of the field/bottom of the trees in the middle distance does, I think, need to be horizontal. So the picture needs a rotational adjustment.

I hope these points do prove to be helpful in your own analysis of this image and that your reflection on them will help in your photographic learning and development.
