    serious studying

Shot this one morning at a Starbucks( my second home). I desaturated most of the color. She didnt even notice me the whole time I was there. About 30 minutes. The guy in the background, inside actually waved at me. LOL!

It looks like a shot that could turn up in a photo book or magazine in 50 years time. The desat treatment is very nice.

Super image, Joe. My only question would be whether we need as much at the bottom of the image?

I can see that it is well balanced, but it is what I would call a 'long, thin' ratio. One alternative would be to crop it just below where the bottom of that big plant pot sits on the ground.

But that is just something to consider as an option. It is a very well made image.

I agree about it being a little long and thin, although I think I would crop from the top dowon to just above the cars roof. That gets rid of some clutter in the background and some area with little to no detail in the deep shadow. Nice image Joe.

Hi Joe, I like the desaturation, though I wish that guy's face wasn't right behind the woman! This really compromises an otherwise good image (for me anyway).

Thanks Guys! Sorry to take so long getting back here.
I am posting 3 different crops as suggested by Donald and Paul. The 3rd one was just an idea. I cropped the top and the bottom.
Brian, I kinda like the guy in the background, but I do see how it can be a distraction. I wonder how it would have read if he was to the left of the girl instead or maybe the right?
What I was trying to do with this shot was bring out her being oblivious to all that was going on around her because of her studying. Give the viewer a glimpse of her surroundings at the same time.
Thanks for your critiques, I really appreciate them.

The flicker photos are gone now. They were there. The different crops are all quite subjective, and I can't say that I like any of them better than the first.

Thanks! Decided to take the others off flickr. They were just for CiC.
