NIKON D4, will it be cheaper in Japan ?

Just seen the news from Photo Answer that the Nikon had already announced a price hike on its D4. Oh My dear God, nearly got a heart attack!
The renewed price is, from £4,799, now stands at £5,290! That is about RM25,400 ! Moreover at the earlier announcement it was only USD6,000? I am confused but yet its RRP in Malaysia is not yet known. However, well, unless we don't go for it......

So, anyone knows that if we buy it in Japan, will it be cheaper ?

    Hi Albert,
I live in Japan and you can get a D4 for about 583,200¥ which after searching the web for a basic currency converter shows it is roughly 21722MYR.

Nikon UK have put the price up because (they say) it was a mistake at £4700 and is now inline with the rest of Europe. The D800 and D800E have gone up £200 for the same reason.

Other countries will not be affected.

    TQ so much, Marstar.
Your info is so helpful to me. I'll take that as a guideline to shop around Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before my trip to Japan this late June.

Yes, Nikon said that clearly about the price increase but looks like I missed that second part of it. "Other countries will not be affected" is really a good news to me, anyway, check it out first.
    TQ Black pearl.
