Think I've overdone it with the HDR but it does look better the original (I think).
    C&C welcome.

For me, John, yes it is a bit overcooked.

But it is what it is. You've adopted a certain style for it. If you were aiming for a realistic reproduction of what you were seeing, then it is over-the-top. But if that's not what you were trying to make and you were intending to produce a heavily tone-mapped image, then it works.

    Thanks Donald,
I keep thinking to myself 'Don't over do the tone mapping...Don't over do the tone mapping' then just can't stop myself. I'll try and adjust this picture again and try and get a more realistic look; which I think in hindsight I would rather have.

Whoa ! this makes me dizzy ! Try SNS-HDR for a natural look.

If realism is your goal, than this one is much closer to what I would expect.

If you want to add a bit more colour you might experiment with trying to locate your camera in this exact same spot on a tripod after dark and capture the colour in the stained glass windows when lit from inside. Then, (the fun part) merge the stained glass colours back into this image. Just a fleeting whisp of a silly thought, pay it no mind! Where DID I put my medication. Hmmmm... Unless, of course……

I like the redone post would just add a little saturation personally
