This image reminds me so much of one used in a webinar on the NIK software site (albeit that is a webinar about using NIK Silver Efex Pro 2). But, nevertheless, you might want to have a look at it as it is very much about managing the light and direction the viewer's attention just to where you want it. I think you might get some ideas as to how you would get even more out of this image.
