    Thanks Paul.

Carry a monopod, walking stick or just use the camera strap - just swing it about a few times and they will get the message.

Bobo, very nice shots. I like the last three. Getting the color and definition against a snow background isn't always easy. I do like the fact that the last two don't have the distraction of the background. But the fourth had really nice focus. Thanks for sharing.

4th for me, just needs tweaking a bit to pull out the colours/contrast.

Thanks Graham. Yes it does. Did try that but there is serious fringing along most of the edges and adjustments just make it worse. Don't know how to fix that.

I would suggest (at the risk of being beheaded) you use a tiny bit deeper depth of field and a faster shutter speed. With each of these images, the focus falls on the fore or last goose and while it is much better on the last image, even that one's right wing drifts out of focus much too quickly as does the top of the left wing.

Thanks Chris. This was my first time with so many birds in the same frame and stepping down did not occur to me then. I should have upped the iso instead of opening up when the light started fading. Thanks for pointing it out.

Like em all Bobo. The first one to me , the flock looks like a goose from the side kinda constellation style.

Bobo, I am afraid I like your first edit better. The composition here puts them a little high in the frame for me. I also like the pp in the first better. Here the background colors look introduced. The also take the eye away from the subject some. The muted tones were nice. Although a little contrast bump might help clear the first one.

    Thanks James.

Thanks Paul - agreed, probably overdone. Was'nt going to but wanted to see how I could work on Graham's suggestion in post #5. Moral of story - if no biggie, leave it be!
