    The tree in the foreground of the second image is too distracting. The mountains in the background should be the focus. Maybe step in front of the tree. I love how the light is across the grass and into the mountain tops.

    I like them both and the lighting is great. I agree about the tree to a certain extent and if you can take another shot that really brings out those great mountains then I think it would really work.

    For me, the second photo is an excellent shot of a tree in strong morning light; in this case, the mountains are just background.
