    A Wetland 'Roo

Last night we had an unexpected deluge for summer. Currently it has been as dry as a dead dingo's donger here with temperatures in the mid 30C's. However last night we got 4 inches of rain overnight. And the joint is flooded out and quite wuf ( = wet under foot). And this morning we had some very disgruntled, less than happy and very wet 'roos at the front gate, intent on lodging a complaint about the weather at our place. Like, all that rain was my fault?

PS as an aside. Used a tamron 300 mm zoom on a tripod, AV set at f13, ISO auto and bracketed 3 shots at settings -2, 0 and +2 stops. Processed with Photomax and pp'd with photoshop. Frame from Gimp decor filters. Hardly worth all that damn effort hey? LOL

Great job of processing. I like the image color and contrast. You will not see any of these around here...

Nice capture Ken but am I seeing a slight blue cast? I may be off the mark here as we don't have these here either.

Like it Ken, you managed to get a bit of light in the eye and nice texture of the fur. All that dry brown grass should get a flourish of green or is it too late?

Ken, nice treat. I would love to see more photos of the wildlife from down under.

Thanks Paul. This is actually the colour of a wet, bedraggled Eastern Grey Kangaroo.

Hi Botspur. No. There is no green to be seen unfortunately. We are in summer with temperatures in the 30C's and the dreary dead brown of the native grasses is usual for this time of year. The overnight down pour was most unseasonal.

Well that is fortunate...as if you lose the bluish grey he gets lost in the background a little. Seeing everyones wildlife shots from places far away is quite interesting. I look forward to more.

Thank you Chuck. Will try to oblige with shots of interest. Living in a small country town we don't have much wild life here. Most of it happens down in Melbourne. But my wife does do bird imitations. She watches me like a hawk! LOL

Hey Pierre, I have always read that New Yorkians are bold and very brave folk. But to cultivate a death wish by trying out the Hawk line on your wife? Hmmm... Maybe we should pause and give this a little more thought, hey?
