Hi, my name is Jack, I'm new to the forum, this is one of my first photos and just wanted some feedback on how to improve focus points in Macro.

Re: The Eye
I'm not a macro shooter, so am not the person to answer your particular point. But hopefully others will come in to do so.
The point I'd make is about lighting. You've got part of this going into complete black. I'm not sure that this is best lighting option. You certainly needs shadows and a tonal range. But, to lose all the detail is, I think, not the best option for an image like this.

Jack, do you have a shoot threw translucent umbrella or softbox? Also, are you working with flash or continuos lighting? I would recommend a soft diffused light source from the front and side to give you more detail in the eye and also add a glint in the pupal.
This is a quickie shot I had thrown up on my Flickr to show someone else and idea for an eye shot.
