    Mike,

Nice shots, first one the cropping at bottom should include all of fingers. Regarding the settings, it depends on what look you wanted to achieve. I think the settings you used were fine. Any reason you used such a high ISO?

    Good lighting and well-exposed images.

Have you started studying the series of lessons that Colin posted here some time ago? Looks like you're ready to tahe your portraiture onto the next levels.

Very nice expressions. A minor point... as I was scrolling the 2nd image, it seems that I like it a bit better with a closer crop, eliminating the jeans perhaps cropping towards the bottom of the sweater...

Nice captures. I agree with Richard on cropping tighter - I'd do it with both photos though. In the first one the fence post on the left is distracting me. It's less of an issue in the second shot I think but you can go in closer.

Regarding your settings, I think John has a valid point. Your subject is stationary and is posing for you so I would have slowed down to 1/60 and dialled down the ISO to the appropriate range.

Thanks John, the first one I got to close and or aimed to high. The second at the moment I'm trying to shoot in Manual except my ISO,it's in auto for now.
